Our Aims
Fulneck School exists to provide high quality educational experiences in a caring Christian environment.
The school aims to provide pupils with the means to acquire knowledge, academic and social skills, qualifications and an enjoyment of learning to enable them to become responsible citizens and achieve economic well-being.
The school seeks to promote Christian values in the pupils' moral and cultural development.
The school encourages each pupil to adopt a healthy lifestyle and to feel safe in order to enjoy and achieve, enabling them to make a positive contribution to the life of the school community and to society as a whole.
The school seeks to develop the potential talents of each individual, recognising and celebrating their achievements both in and out of the classroom.
About Us
Although we are first and foremost a centre of education, Fulneck School is about much more than just examination results and academic ability. The individual development of each pupil is underpinned by the encouragement of self-discipline and responsibility.
Pupils largely follow the National Curriculum and study towards public examinations in which Fulneck exceeds national averages. The broad curriculum covers all aspects of life: spiritual, moral, social, academic, creative, cultural and physical, ensuring the balanced development of all pupils from the age of 3.
The school is situated only 15 minutes from the centre of Leeds yet overlooks the picturesque Tong Valley, enabling the pupils to benefit from city living in a tranquil country environment - the best of both worlds in our opinion. The original Grade 1 listed, 18th century, buildings have been tastefully refurbished to meet today's educational needs without losing their essential character. In more recent years additional buildings and facilities have been added to the site including a Gymnasium, The Comenius Centre - a Creative Arts Centre & Theatre, Design & Technology Centre, Science Block, Joan Mort House - the Sixth Form Centre, The Robinson Building - a multi-purpose teaching block, Sporting Pavilions, extensive sports fields, Tennis & Netball courts, and landscaped gardens. The pupils also have access to a 9-hole golf course and horse riding stables on their doorstep.
The school is placed in a prime location for both commuters and boarding pupils. Manchester airport is 1 hour from school, Leeds Bradford International Airport 20 minutes and Leeds City Rail Station 15 minutes from the site.
