Parents and Friends Association AGM
On Tuesday 1st November the PFA met in the East Hall. Mr Needham, Head of PE, presented a proposal to refurbish the Sports Changing Pavilion and the Cricket Pavilion. The scheme was supported by the PFA who have agreed to commit some of their funds to the project.
Former Pupils’ Dinner
The annual Dinner was held at the Bradford Club on Friday 4th November. Some eighty former pupils and guests enjoyed the opportunity to hear the President of the Association, Mr John Edward as well as a summary of the last twelve months in the life of the school from Mr Kernohan. The after dinner speaker, Mr Austin Knight, entertained everyone with his humour.
Old Trafford Visit
On Wednesday 2nd November, the PE department ran a trip to watch Manchester United in one of their Champions league group matches at Old Trafford.
45 students went to watch the game accompanied by Mr Needham , Mr Thomas Mr Walker and Mr Potts . The students managed to spend plenty in the mega store and were treated to a birds eye view of the pitch after being placed high in the North Stand!!!
Man Utd cantered to a 2 – 0 win against Valencia with Rooney scoring in each half and now look set to qualify for the next round of group stages.
After watchng the game year 8 student Mustapha Mahmood said “ I really enjoyed the night and thought Wayne Rooney was class in Midfield”!!
It was a late night for the group getting home at 11.45 but it was an excellent occasion for all involved.
