U13’s v Hipperholme

On Saturday,  playing with a slightly weakened team, the U13s struggled a little in tough windy and wet conditions at Hipperholme. Playing against a physically larger pack, Fulneck kept working away and defended extremely well despite losing a couple of early tries. Edmund Okpala quickly hit back for Fulneck with a well taken try and an excellent finish. That was as good as it got for Fulneck despite the efforts of William Hainsworth who was outstanding as a fill in scrum half. Jack Belfield was always on the attack and was unlucky not to add to the score line.

Final Score - Fulneck 5 Hipperholme 27

Tries – Edmund Okpale

Conversions –

Man of The Match –  William Hainsworth

Game Stars – Jack Bellfield   Edmund Okpala

U15s  v Hipperholme

The U15s put in their strongest performance of the season with a display of excellent Rugby that was rewarded with wave after wave of attacks and tries. Edward Kelly was magnificent in attack and together with Matthew McMahon, they caused havoc in the forwards. Tom Farnell and Matthew Leung backed up the pair in the pack ensuring that Fulneck always secured possession.

In the first half George Bradley and Eddie Kelly got the ball rolling with a quick brace before Kelly and Mc Mahon added further tries. Russel Pritchard finished off the first half with an excellent individual try in the corner.

Fulneck continued their impressive momentum in the second half with Callum Gamble making some excellent strides down the right wing. Daniel Mohun was excellent in the centres and provided two breaks for tries finished off by Eddie Kelly and Bradley Lynn. Hipperholme stepped up their game in the second half and deservedly clinched a try right at the end after good work from their forwards.

This was an excellent performance by the U15s who will go into next week’s 10 a side tournament at Read School in buoyant mood.
