Private School Application Process

If you are interested in finding out how your child could benefit from a Fulneck School education, please contact us and we will arrange for a personal tour. You will have the opportunity to view our facilities, meet the staff and, most importantly, meet the people at the heart of our community – our pupils.

The Governors determine the overall admissions policy of the school and the Principal is responsible for determining pupil enrolment on their behalf.

The application process follows three easy steps and you are not obliged to make any decisions until we have made an offer of a place for your child. Owing to the demand for places at Fulneck School, it is recommended that all pupils register early. Pupils’ names will then be added to our waiting list and called for an Entrance Assessment.

If you are considering Fulneck School for your child, you should complete and return the registration form, together with the £20 registration fee, in the pre-paid envelope which can be found within your information pack. Where available, we ask that you include a copy of your child’s latest school report with your registration. Download a registration form here.

Once you have registered, your child will be invited to spend the day at Fulneck School with his or her year group. Buddies will be allocated to look after your child and guide him or her throughout the day.

During the day your child will sit an Entrance Assessment. Fulneck School uses this assessment as a guide to ability to ensure that on entry to the school, education is tailored to your child’s needs. Younger children will be observed in the classroom environment rather than sitting a formal assessment. During this time children may meet with the Principal or a senior member of staff for an informal interview. We also carefully consider the behaviour record of prospective pupils and when they are transferring from another school, we seek a reference from their Head Teacher.

For overseas students unable to come to Fulneck to sit our exam, we can make arrangements for your child to be tested in their home country.

You will be notified as soon as possible regarding an offer of a place for your child. Please note there is no obligation to make a decision about your child’s education until an offer of a place is received.
