Boarding Staff
All boarding staff have many years of experience working with young people and are fully qualified in First Aid. In addition the School employs a full time paediatric Nurse, who is always available during school hours and on-call outside working hours.
Nurse Sheila Stanley RGN / RSCN / Dip AMC BA Neph: Nurse Sheila (as she is warmly addressed by all pupils) provides daily medical support and advice for all pupils including the boarders through the Medical Centre and she provides on call evening and weekend medical assistance. She is also greatly involved in assisting with weekend activities.
Girls’ House
The care and welfare of the girls is the responsibility of the Senior House Mistress and her staff.
Miss B Medhurst BA PGCE Dip Inst AM is Head of Girls Boarding. She is responsible for the day to day running of the Boarding House, and monitors the girls’ academic and personal development.
Miss Medhurst is supported by an excellent team of 2 Assistant Housemistresses, Mrs Sanderson and Mrs Hainsworth, with regular input from the teaching staff.
Boys' House
The welfare and care of the boys is the responsibility of the Head of Boys Boarding and his dedicated staff.
Mr. P Potter is the Head of Boys' Boarding. He has several years experience of Residential Boarding schools and has overall responsibility for the welfare and academic progress of the boys in his care.
Mr Potter is supported by an excellent team of experienced Assistant Housemasters including Mr Jobling, Mr Lau, Mr Perkins and the Boys' Matron Mrs Jobling, who is a real "mother figure"; the boys go to her with all sorts of requests from mending torn clothes to shopping and posting letters. Mrs Jobling understands well what it is like for parents who have children away from home as her own children went to boarding school whilst she accompanied her husband during this military career.
