Fulneck School is delighted to announce that Leeds City Council has confirmed that planning permission has been granted for the Sports Hall development and accompanying Conservation Area consent.
This is a big achievement given the School's sensitive Conservation Area and Green Belt status.
Fulneck School would like to thank all the pupils, parents and staff who have given support while gaining planning permission. We would also like to specially mention all who helped us to gain permission: Philippa Edwards from GVA Grimley, Joanne Sutcliffe and all the team at Sutcliffe’s Construction, John Coultas, David Hodgson and all the team at Bowman Riley Architects, Tom Livesley the Landscape Architect and Robert Packham from Leeds City Council.
Fundraising is well underway and we hope you and your families will join us in raising funds to enable us to build the Sports Hall.
Upcoming fundraising events:
Parents’ and Friends’ Association Spring Ball

On a sunny Saturday 19 September, School opened up the gardens to pupils, parents, family and friends for a Family Fun Day. Junior School pupils took part in a mini-Olympics and each Form in the Senior School ran a stall. Attendees had the opportunity to view a number of classic cars, ride the Bucking Bronco, have a go on the Bouncy castle and eat in the café in the Dining Hall. A huge thank you to everyone who took part or attended. Approximately £2500 was raised on the day!

Exciting News
Fulneck School has recently announced plans to build a brand new sports hall for the benefit of all pupils. It is anticipated that the Sports Hall will be ready for September 2010.
It's currently estimated that the cost of the project will be in the region of £1.5 million. Some of this will be met from the school's financial reserves, although we hope to be able to raise a significant sum through fundraising and external investments from parents, alumni, local businesses, generous donors etc.
If you would like to get involved in fundraising or donate to the 'Fulneck School Sports Hall Appeal' please send an email to

Our next event is:
Building the Sports Hall
Before we are able to use the new Sports Hall there are a few things we must do first:
1. Select the most appropriate design to best meet the needs of the pupils. The design will be big enough to accommodate four badminton courts, changing rooms, storage and a teaching room.
2. Obtain planning permission for the building following completion of surveys.
3. Demolition of the old West Gym to clear the site and begin building the new Sports Hall.
4. Bringing the Sports Hall into use. |
