Junior School
As Headmaster of Fulneck Junior School, my primary aim is to develop your child's inherent skills and constantly fuel their imagination...
Above all, both in the classroom and beyond, I am committed to ensuring that your child's formative years are fulfilled beyond expectations. My team strives to provide for the needs of every child and work with them individually to achieve their aims and goals.
How do I know if we are successful? On the one hand, I keep a very close eye on the progress of all my pupils but, perhaps more importantly, my own children are both pupils within the School and I have daily feedback.
Fulneck celebrates the individual whilst promoting collegiality and good citizenship. Our traditional values and ethos are based upon perseverance, humility, truthfulness and kindness and we truly believe in them; we stand by them and try to live them day-to-day. Your child, our children, their welfare, safety and development are of paramount concern to us. We treasure them as you do.
Each child is valued for their own special gifts and talents and is encouraged to use them in developing those of others. At Fulneck Junior School, every child really does matter; no lids on jars here, each child is encouraged to jump as high as they can and reach as far as they dream..
One of the key measures for a school is the involvement of the children in its everyday life. The children of Fulneck Junior School are the school. They are wrapped in a broad yet balanced, purposeful and independent curriculum and engaged in the inventive, exciting and superbly resourced lessons.
Our Extended Curriculum programme at Fulneck provides a breadth, an excellence and an excitement outside of the curricular lessons to match that within them. Our links with professional clubs and coaches, alongside an outstanding and enthusiastic body of teachers, enable the children to experience both excellence and enjoyment whilst developing a high level of skills.
We have a full range of club activities ongoing throughout the year, from the main sports of netball, hockey, rounders, rugby, football and cricket that complement our own specialist coaching during our Games afternoon to creative and performing arts such as art club, DT, drama/play rehearsal, choir, rock band and orchestra. Whatever your child's interests, we can offer an enticing outlet.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child to the impressive Fulneck Junior School family.

David Goulbourn, Headmaster
