Extra Curricular Classes and Sports |
As part of our philosophy of developing pupils’ life skills, we emphasise the need for them to be involved in some extra-curricular activities. The School offers a wide variety each term enabling pupils to experience a broad range of challenges.
We encourage full participation in any chosen activity and urge pupils to try everything at least once! A great deal of emphasis is placed on lunchtime and afterschool clubs and commitment to extra-curricular activities has an important place alongside study. Many will require participation after school and at weekends.
Our extensive extra-curricular programme provides pupils with the opportunity to develop their skills in teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, confidence and social skills. Above all participation in extra-curricular activities will allow pupils the opportunity to experience and explore a new interest which they may not ordinarily have had the chance to pursue.
Throughout the school year, each class has the opportunity to experience topic-related excursions. A residential activity for Years 4 and 5 is built into the curriculum. In Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to visit France.
