Payment
Fees are payable in advance. The school operates a flexible payment plan and accepts full payment before your child starts: three equal instalments on the first day of each term or 12 equal instalments payable on the 1st of every month. Some payment plans may incur an administration charge. Fulneck School accepts all major credit cards. To discuss your payment plan in detail, please contact the Bursar.

Notice of Withdrawal
Parents shall give to the Principal one full term’s notice in writing of their intention to withdraw a pupil from school. Such notice must be received by the Principal on or before the first day of the school term at the end of which the pupil is to leave. A full term’s fees will be payable, in lieu of notice, if such notice is not given.

Discounts
A 5% sibling discount is applicable to families with more than one child placed at Fulneck. A 10% discount is available to children of Christian Clergy and Armed Services personnel.

Fees Protection
No reduction or rebate of fees can be made for absence. Insurance for pupils’ belongings, clothing and effects in school or on school trips is the responsibility of the parents unless otherwise indicated.

Scholarships & Bursaries

Year 7 Scholarship Awards
Scholarship awards are only applicable to Senior School day tuition fees. Pupils are requested to write to the Principal detailing the award for which they wish to apply, expressing their experience, interest and level of achievement in the subject area, and the contribution they can provide to life at Fulneck School should they be awarded the Scholarship together with any other relevant details. All awards are subject to annual review and will cover the years up to and including GCSE.  Interviews and practical assessments (if applicable) will follow the January Entrance Examination. Applicants must be registered for the Entrance Examination to apply for a Scholarship Award. A brief overview of what is required in each area is detailed below:

Art Scholarship
Applicants must bring their pre-prepared art portfolio to discuss at interview with the Principal and Head of Art. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high level of skill in the following areas: observational drawing, imaginative drawing, painting, pattern and design work.

Musical Scholarship
Applicants must be able to play one instrument to at least Grade 2 or 3 level Associated Board and preferably have begun to learn a second instrument (or voice). The candidate will be asked to play two contrasting pieces of their own choice for the Head of Music and then meet with the Principal for an informal interview.

Sport Scholarship
Candidates should play one of the School’s main sports to a high standard and show evidence of good ability in a second sport. At interview with the Head of Physical Education and the Principal, pupils will be questioned about their involvement in sport and will discuss this involvement and their skills.

Bursary Award
At Fulneck School we are committed to the provision of high quality education and recognise that not all parents are in a position to afford the full cost of this benefit. The Principal and Governors of Fulneck aim to broaden access to the School by offering to eligible parents/guardians means-tested financial support towards the payment of fees.

Every year, to help alleviate the strain of this cost, the Governors set aside a Bursary Fund. This fund is awarded on a case-by-case basis through means-testing and is determined by the Governors on the recommendation of the Principal and the Bursar of Fulneck School. All awards are subject to annual review.

In addition to an assessment of family income, the level of Bursary Award will be based upon a number of criteria which includes performance in the Fulneck School Entrance Examination, a confidential report from their current school and feedback from Fulneck staff during the child’s Taster Day. Consideration may also be given to the child’s academic, sporting, artistic, musical or other ability.

If you would like to apply for a Bursary Award please return the Bursary Application Form along with your completed Registration Form and the £20 Registration Fee. Bursary Application Forms can be requested via the Fulneck School Office on +44 (0)113 257 0235 or via email enquiries@fulneckschool.co.uk

Offer of Place
A letter detailing the offer of a place and level of award, if any, will be sent to parents following the child’s Examination and any other associated testing.
