Sixth Form

The Sixth Form at Fulneck School is based in the purpose-built Sixth Form Centre in Joan Mort House, although expanding numbers in recent years have led us to develop additional facilities in the adjacent Nelson’s House.  Large and comfortable common rooms and a kitchen area are available for Sixth Formers’ leisure and recreational time, whilst study rooms equipped with computers are used throughout the day.

We believe that the Sixth Form years are a very special time in the lives of our young people when personalities can flourish and crucial decisions are made about the future.

A well-qualified team of tutors working in collaboration with the Head of Sixth Form supports, monitors and encourages the personal and academic development of each student. Emphasis is placed on the guided development of independent study skills in preparation for university life.  Team-work and leadership, qualities so valued in today’s employment market, are also nurtured.

We are proud of our forward-looking approach with a strong tradition of academic excellence, with an innovative and unique leadership system, where the students take a leading role in shaping the academic, extra-curricular and social aspects of their lives at Fulneck.
