GCSE Results Day 2020

At Fulneck School, our expectation is that all our pupils work as hard as they can. We expect our learners to leave no stone unturned in preparing for their GCSEs and consequently we celebrate all their achievements.

This year, pupils who worked hard for the majority of their GCSE courses were robbed of the opportunity to shine in the exams. Instead, their final grades are largely the grades that we as a centre carefully calculated with a small minority determined by the Government’s calculation.

Many of our pupils will stay on at Fulneck Sixth Form where they will study a selection of A Level and Btec courses including Biology, History, Art and Sports Science. As for the rest of the 2020 cohort they accepted college places in the local area which provide specific support that relates to their ongoing aspirations founded at Fulneck.

Principal, Paul Taylor commented that “This year group has been on tenterhooks since the lockdown in March and the pupils’ worries will only have been increased by the fiasco surrounding last week’s A Level results. However, in the end they have received grades that do their efforts justice and we now look forward to watching them flourish in our Sixth Form as they begin their programmes of A Level and Btec study.”
