Here, parents and students will get to hear from our Principal, Head of Sixth Form, and Head of Curriculum about everything that 6th Form at Fulneck has to offer; from small class sizes and seminar-style learning, to personalised support with further education and careers, to school fundraising, leadership, and extra-curricular.

Please download a prospectus or contact our admissions team to find out more.

OPEN EVENTS & TASTER DAYS

We recently held a fantastically successful whole School Open Day. Nearly one hundred families visited Fulneck to hear from our Principal on our unique approach to learning, extra-curricular, and pastoral care. Prospective families received a private tour of the school from our wonderful students, meeting a variety of subject teachers along the way.

If you were not able to attend, we offer private tours and specific open events throughout the year. Please don’t hesistate to contact our admissions team via the link below for more information.

Pre-school admissions (Age 3-4)

Children who join Fulneck School in our Primary School enjoy a through school education until they are 18 and are not required to sit any further assessments to enter the Senior School.

Pre-school is the beginning of the Fulneck educational journey. Children can be welcomed into Fulneck from the beginning of the term after which they turn three years of age and embark on an amazing journey of learning, discovery and fun.

Prospective families are encouraged to contact us to arrange for a personalised tour during which you will see the excellent facilities we enjoy, meet current staff and pupils and meet with the Head of Pre-school.

For children so young we are simply looking for the potential to learn, thrive and be happy with in our very special school. Our aim is to ensure that Fulneck is the right environment for your child to flourish.

Applications can be made throughout the year.

If you would like to arrange a visit or require any further information, please contact our Admissions Team on 0 113 257 0235.  Alternatively register your interest by filling out our contact form and a member of the admissions team will be in touch.

Junior school admissions (age 4-11)

From their very first days at Fulneck School we get to know each child and encourage them to develop their individual strengths. We nurture a strong sense of being valued both as an individual and as a member of our community.

Our Primary School (Age 3-11) is a wonderful learning environment which we encourage you to visit and see for yourselves.  We are committed to small class sizes and individual care and we would be delighted to hear from Parents who want their children to join.

Every day is an Open Day and the best way to appreciate all that our wonderful Junior School has to offer is to come and see the School for yourself. We are always happy to show new families around and you can arrange a tour with our Admissions Manager.

We invite parents and children to have a tour of the school.  We are simply looking for the potential to learn, thrive and be happy with in our very special school.

Depending on the year which your child is looking at entering, they may be asked to complete an English assessment and a cognitive ability test which are enormously helpful to us in knowing how best to meet their needs. Our aim is to ensure that Fulneck is the right environment for your child to flourish.

Applications are welcome throughout the year and references from previous schools are always sought.

Please contact us to discuss moving forward with an application, we understand that there are many questions when considering your choice of school and our Admissions Manager who will be happy to chat about any aspect of School life and admissions.

Senior School admission to Year 7

Parents comment on the difference they see in their child soon after beginning at Fulneck School; they say their child seems more calm, confident and self-assured.  We would agree, and would add that this is owing to the small family feel of the school where children receive a first-rate education in its broadest sense.

We are a selective independent school, and we are looking for pupils who will thrive in our beautiful learning environment, work hard and do their best.  Our pupils are well behaved, respectful, and considerate of others with excellent attitudes to learning.

Pupils looking to join the senior school are invited to visit one of the school open days and attend a taster day.  They will then be invited to sit an entrance assessment which takes place in December of their Year 6.  The pupils will also be interviewed by a member of our dedicated and caring staff and parents will also have the opportunity to speak with a senior member of staff and meet the Principal.

We are looking for pupils who have a good attitude to learning and will contribute all that Fulneck School has to offer.

To register for the entrance assessment please complete the application form below.

Alternatively contact our Admissions Team using the contact form below or telephone for a discussion on 0 113 2570235.

Sixth Form Admissions

External applicants are warmly welcomed, along with internal applicants, to our small, friendly, and high-performing Sixth Form.

Applicants are expected to have performed well in their GCSEs and we assess each application on merit.  Our highly trained staff will be able to provide expert advice on which A Level subjects or BTECs may be most suitable to pursue.

You will be welcomed into School for an interview with the Head of Sixth Form, have the opportunity to meet teachers and pupils in the subjects you are considering studying at A Level, have a personalised tour of our facilities and perhaps spend a taster day here, if you would like to do so. You can be assured of a very warm welcome form pupils and staff.

UCAS preparation and university guidance are exceptional for Fulneck Sixth Formers, and the Principal meets with every student to ensure that their UCAS application is first rate. Thanks to the quality of teaching, high aspirations, leadership opportunities, the extraordinary number of enriching activities offered beyond the standard curriculum and outstanding UCAS/careers advice, Fulneck Sixth Formers really are well prepared to take on the challenges of University and beyond.

MID YEAR APPLICATIONS

We are happy to accept applications from pupils for places mid schooling. We accept a number of pupils each year who have either moved to the area or who have not settled at their current school.

If there are available places in the required year group we would invite pupils for an assessment and an interview with the Principal. (I would want to interview every mid-year entrant)

We would always seek to obtain a reference from the pupil’s current school.  Applicants are usually tested in English together with a cognitive ability test which is enormously helpful to us to ensure we are able to meet their needs.

Offers of places are made to successful candidates shortly after their visits.

Bursaries are not available for intermediate entry and successful mid-year applicants will be offered a place on a full fee-paying basis.

If you would like to arrange for a personalised tour or would like to find out more, please contact our friendly Admissions team on 0 113 2570235 or email us at admissions@fulneckschool.co.uk

If you would like to arrange an assessment for your child, please complete the registration form and we will contact you to arrange a suitable time.

INTERNATIONAL APPLICATIONS

We welcome applications from pupils seeking to board at Fulneck School from overseas and from the UK.

We would ask parents to contact the school to discuss the admissions process which typically involves completing a registration form followed by the pupil undertaking an informal ‘Zoom’ interview with the Principal about their interests, hobbies and aspirations.

A formal assessment would then be undertaken, and the school would put these arrangements in place before an offer being made.

APPLYING FROM ABROAD

We appreciate that some parents will be researching schools from abroad owing to moving back to the UK in the near future.

We are very happy to facilitate a visit to the school at a time which is convenient with you.

Please contact our admissions team on 0 113 2570235 or email admission@fulneckschool.co.uk to chat about your specific circumstances.

Bursaries and Scholarships

Fulneck school is committed to enabling as many pupils as possible benefit from an independent education and is able to provide some assistance with the cost of fees, this is known as a Bursary.

The School offers a number of means tested bursaries each year. These are awarded to pupils entering the Senior School in Year 7. No bursaries are provided to pupils in the Junior Schools, or those who wish to enter the Senior School at any other point than Year 7.  Year 7 Bursary applicants must sit the entrance assessment.

The demand for bursaries at Fulneck School is high and the School has a limited amount of available funding. This inevitably means that some applications will be unsuccessful. Bursary awards are offered at the discretion of the Governing Body of the Fulneck School.

To have a discussion about making an application for a bursary please contact a member of the admissions department on 0 113 2570235 or email admission@fulneckschool.co.uk

Fulneck School is pleased to offer a number of Scholarships in a number of fields aimed at recognising gifted and talented pupils.  Scholarships are offered to pupils entering the Senior Schools and students entering the Sixth Form and carry a small monetary value paid directly to the pupil.

Scholarships are awarded to encourage pupils to develop their particular talent and to play a leading role inspiring younger children in the same field.  Whilst Fulneck Scholarships do carry a small monetary value that is given to the pupil, their true purpose is to recognise excellence and they are not a means of fee-assistance. Our Scholarships are awarded to pupils who we feel have the potential to excel and play a leading role in school.

Scholarships can be awarded to support any area or interest such as Maths, History, English, Sport, Drama, Music and outdoor pursuits.  Scholarships are paid directly to the pupil in September of the year of their award.  In return, pupils will be expected to give back to the school in terms of their time and commitment to school events.  It is an honour to be awarded a scholarship and worthy recipients should make their passions and talents clear during their interview.
